WEST YORKSHIRE CYCLING CHALLENGE - 2nd JUNE to 6th JUNE inclusive |
Well, it had to happen sooner or later, following in the footsteps of West Lancashire, West Yorkshire Brethren have now organized a 391 mile cycling challenge around the Northern Provinces & they have are thrown down the gauntlet to West Lancashire Brethren to join them as they cycle through our Province |
Day 1 - 2nd June - and the ride which will take place over 5 days starts in Mirfield West Yorkshire, covering a 72 mile route to Skeeby (Scotch Corner) in North Yorkshire |
Day 2 - 3rd June dawns early - it will have to - as the challenge is to ride the 80 miles from Skeeby to Penrith in Cumbria |
Day 3 - 4th June - now they enter our Province, leaving Penrith they head down a 73 mile route to Preston with a 'pit stop' at Carnforth Masonic Hall between 12 noon & 1.13pm before finishing the day at Preston Masonic Hall around 6.00pm |
Day 4 - 5th June - leaving Preston even earlier the riders will now head off to Worksop in Nottinghamshire - a grueling 96 miles - the longest day in the saddle |
Day 5 - 6th June (D Day) - the final leg of their journey sees the shortest day of the 5 - just 70 miles back to Mirfield |
Now the Challenge - are there any West Lancashire Brethren who would like to support our West Yorkshire Brethren by either riding a section of the route whilst in our Province or can assist them with potential 'stopping points' on the way? |
